DDS: API dentists must be licensed by the State of Minnesota, carry their own malpractice insurance and have a minimum of three years recent experience in general dentistry.
RDH: Dental hygienists must be licensed by the State of Minnesota and have a minimum of one year recent full-time experience.
LDA: Dental assistants must be licensed by the State of Minnesota and have a minimum of one year recent full-time experience.
Additionally, to be considered an API candidate, you must have the following:
Our dentists have a minimum of three years current experience in general dentistry. Further, they have their own malpractice and liability insurance. They are paid on an hourly basis by API. It’s customary for the dental office requesting coverage to meet with the API DDS prior to an assignment. This helps toward ensuring client satisfaction.
Our Minnesota-licensed registered dental hygienists (RDHs) have a minimum of one year, full-time current experience in general dentistry or specialty. API does accept and assign new hygiene graduates, as long as the client agrees. However, the majority of our RDHs have more than four years of experience.
Our Minnesota-licensed dental assistants (LDAs) have a minimum of one year full-time current experience in general dentistry or specialty. A number of our LDAs are also certified and experienced in specialty areas.
Our clerical professionals have a minimum of one year, full-time current experience in a dental practice. Most are comfortable with electronic scheduling and patient re-call. Some have billing and collections experience.
