How We Stay on Top

We attract and retain the best because of our outstanding reputation, competitive pay and benefits. Here’s how our process works:
 

  • DDS candidates must have at least three years field experience.
  • We interview face-to-face, screening not only for essential skills, but critical personal traits like service orientation, commitment and integrity.
  • Before anybody is offered an API position, we conduct criminal background checks and contact at least two professional references.
  • Only the top 50% of those interviewed make it to the next level of consideration for API employment. When we send one of our professionals to support you, you know you’re getting the cream of the crop.

We Cover the Basics

  • API employees are licensed & credentialed.  Posses current BLS/CPR, have current Mantoux/chest x-ray. Cleared criminal background study, completed OSHA, HIPPA, Fraud, Waste & Abuse training and Home Care Orientation.
  • We run annual criminal background OIG, EPLS, Sex Offender checks.
  • API requires verifiable immunization health records and the date the Hepatitis B vaccination series were completed.
  • API employees are covered under API’s Workman's Compensation, General Liability and Malpractice insurance.
  • API dentists have their own malpractice insurance.
  • API employees can access continuing education programs throughout the year, so they stay on top of industry best practices.
  • Annually offer our clients to participate in the on site Flu/Mantoux Clinics or to attend our quarterly continuing education programs or CPR classes.

API Dental Professionals

Our dentists have a minimum of three years current experience in general dentistry. Further, they have their own malpractice and liability insurance. They are paid on an hourly basis by API. It’s customary for the dental office requesting coverage to meet with the API DDS prior to an assignment. This helps toward ensuring client satisfaction.

Our Minnesota-licensed registered dental hygienists (RDHs) have a minimum of one year, full-time current experience in general dentistry or specialty. API does accept and assign new hygiene graduates, as long as the client agrees. However, the majority of our RDHs have more than four years of experience.

Our Minnesota-licensed dental assistants (LDAs) have a minimum of one year full-time current experience in general dentistry or specialty. A number of our LDAs are also certified and experienced in specialty areas.

Our clerical professionals have a minimum of one year, full-time current experience in a dental practice. Most are comfortable with electronic scheduling and patient re-call. Some have billing and collections experience.

Satisfaction Guaranteed

Client satisfaction is our continual goal. We always send out the most qualified people. But, if during the first four hours of a scheduled shift, you find that one of our field staff isn’t the perfect match, simply call API for a replacement.  We’ll send them home and there is no charge for the time!
